A Night of Nights

When we ran our recent ‘House Of Suntory Japanese Whisky Dinner’ at PJ O’Brian’s, we knew from the get-go that it was going to be a special night. With tickets as rare as hens teeth, 22 lucky whisky lovers had the privilege of sampling some of the finest Japanese whiskies the world has known. Kakubin, Hakashu, Yamazaki, Hibiki… but the real star of the night was the 2016 Yamazaki Sherry Cask. In addition to the fine drop, we accompanied the serve with freshly picked, then frozen Cabernet grapes and hand tempered dark chocolate. These not only indulged the taste buds but paid homage to the six barrel maturation period, of which the final 3 months being in Grand Cru Bordeaux Cabernet Merlot barrels. 

We’re not sure if it was an Australian first but it certainly made for a very special moment and night to remember.
